A unique community of just over 700 homes surrounding 5 lakes, this neighborhood features private lakes with 2 beaches, tennis, basketball &   volleyball courts,  playgrounds, and athletic fields. Boating is allowed on the lakes - no power boats permitted  Children over 10 are permitted at the beaches without adult accompaniment.  Teenagers are often seen enjoying the various facilities during the long summer months?a break for Moms!

There is an active homeowners association which sponsors activities through out the year, including beach opening parties, 5 K runs and fishing contests as well as annual chilli cookoff and communinty yard sales.

The annual homeowners? dues of $360 covers the costs for lifeguards at the beaches, newsletters and reserves for maintenance items such as resurfacing tennis courts or updating playground equipment.

The elementary school is located within the neighborhood, being walking distance for most residents, (bus transportation is provided for kindergarten students).  The school system also offers a before and after school program as well as many special programs.  Voorhees middle school is a short bus ride away as are the intermediate and senior high schools.  While adjacent to each other the intermediate (9th & 10th grades)  and senior (11th & 12th grade) high schools are separate schools - each with its own principal, staff etc.  Some facilities and sports programs are shared by both -allowing freshmen to play varisity sports  or take part in various clubs and activities. 

There is a swim club (separate membership fees apply) in the neighboring community of Sturbridge Woods.  Sturbridge Lakes is truly a ?neighborhood? rather than a development.  Any evening you are bound to see neighbors walking dogs, jogging, roller-blading or just visiting with each other.
